How To: Make Tofu Scramble
Tofu scramble is a great breakfast served with toast, inside a breakfast burrito, or on its own. Get creative with this extremely simple recipe!
1 block firm tofu, all liquid drained
1 T nutritional yeast
1 tsp turmeric
pinch black pepper
Optional: 1/2 tsp dried & ground rosemary
Mix spices together in a bowl. Set aside.
Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat. Add 1-2 tsp water.
Place tofu in center of pan and gently break down the block of tofu using a wooden spatula. (See images below.)
Add your spices and gently fold them into the tofu. The tofu will continue to break down as you stir. Add tiny splashes of water as needed—you shouldn’t need much, but every tofu block, pan, and stove is different.
Reduce heat to medium-low. Stir frequently as needed. Cook for approximately 5 more minutes. Remove from heat and serve as you like. (With toast, in a burrito, etc.)
